is methane heavier or lighter than air? is it still gas at room tempurature? can you fill a normal balloon with it, and if so, what would would be the range of damage of lighting it on fire (with a fuse of course)

Lighter than air, still gas at room temperature, could fill a balloon with it, and unpredictable how it would burn if exposed to flame or fuse because correct fuel/air mixture would not be guaranteed. Probably an irregular flash that would burn an area the size of the balloon if you were near it.

lighter than air and a gas at room temperature. If you fill a balloon with it the balloon will float in air. It can be explosive

Methane is lighter than air. CH(4). I is a gas at room temp. It is a primary component of natural gas (stove gas), but orderless. If yo filled a baloon and lit it it will explode and singe stuff a few feet away. be careful..
