If he is not the CEO, president, owner, then you can go over his head and pose this same question. Tell them you need clarification, it would depend on the company size etc and your location and if you are under a contract or just an employee, many variables.

Make sure your notice is in writing. Give a copy to Human Resources to ensure that it doesn't get "lost" by your boss.
Work out your 2 weeks. It may come back to bite you in the future if you don't.

Absolutely not. If he tries to fire you, you can sue.
Normally they will not get mad. If he does, then it is
totally unprofessional and they need to be put in
check. No. If he is rude to you then you have every
right to leave then. Although, if he is that much of
a dick, I'd not worry about it and just never use that
place a reference at future jobs.

Maybe but you can still make them pay you for the two weeks because you gave them notice. Consult an employment lawyer or the workforce commission in your state.
