I have been promoting fund raising concerts for 25+ years. Setting up a fund raising concert is not as hard as you might think. Promoting ticket sales IS hard though. Most Non-Profits believe that their name or the entertainment will drive ticket sales. In most (95% of) cases this is not true. It's a tough lesson to learn after you sign contracts with talent, venue, et al.

Many man hours by dedicated and motivated personnel raises funds. The average successful medium size VOLUNTEER fund drive takes on average, 6 people, 6 weeks, 20 hour work weeks at a minimum.

Successfull fund drives that don't use professional fund raising organizations are always led by very strong and driven leaders who can gather, organize and motivate volunteers. Good intentions are not enough. I don't want to discourage you but I do want to help you avoid a loss.

These make up a fund drive;

Volunteer or paid personnel
Licenses and fees
Talent
Venue and Insurance for venue
Printing
Office Rental
Phone service
Furniture and equipment
Utilities
Promotion
and many, many man hours of hard work!

Email me if you like. And I'm just talking about free advice. Good luck with your event!

I say serious planning would be key!
Only kidding. Here is what you need to know.

1)The cause for the fundraiser.
2)The location
3)How many guests are expected
4)Guest Invitations (Mailers/signs/flyers)? RSVP
5)How many guests are expected?
6)What info about fundraiser will you hand out or
deliver to guests to provide more knowledge?
(Ex: Speech, flyers, video, powerpoint)
7)Will their be food? How much will this cost?
Will you make more than you spend?
8)Will there be drinks/food to hold guests over.
9)Duration of fundraiser(2hrs or 3 days)? Date/time?

That's what I could come up with. Good Luck!
