I live in hagerstown md. about 20 minutes from Burketsville maryland. where is supposedly happened.
i drive through burketsville at least one time a week.
It is completly fake. need proof?
1, i am a member of a ghost hunting team. we have not even found enough historical evidence to bother with an investigation.
2, a friend of mine goes fishing and he stands on coffin rock.(where the witch supposedly killed 5 fishermen. )
he has also seen the abandoned house where they filmed the final scene...he is still alive
3, I am a Pagan minister and spiritual cleanser, my wife is a Medium. and niether of us feel anything in that area, that would even hint at something that powerful being there.
4, there are no police records of any college kids missing in burketsville md.
5, THE ACTORS FROM THE MOVID DID TALK SHOWS AFTER IT WAS RELEASED.
6, there is nowhere in or near burketsville that you could get lost for 3 days without finding something unless you walked in a very small circle. If you simply go to the top of the mountain(any mountain,) you will see frederick,burketsville or Hagerstown middletown waynesburo.
7, the sticks tied together, that were hanging in trees,,,ARE NOT SYMBOLS OF WITCHCRAFT OR VOODOO.
8, have you ever left a vhs tape outside for months?????
try it, put a vhs tape on a hollow stump for 4 weeks durring the fall of the year. (leaves were turning and falling in the movie.)
see what is left when you are done. try to play them. (hope you have a spare VCR.)
9, there are civil war artifacts buried all over that mountain...bullets, buttons, belt bucles,,,, if the woods were haunted would you be able to get southern troops (with all of their supersticion) to march through that ares..
10, Is'ent 9 reasons enough?
the movie was a great gimick and a wonder of hyped advertiseing. that is all.

Think. Would film last through a Maryland winter? Watch the movie and stay to see th final credits.
The movie was a made-up story by some college students as a project. There is no Blair Witch.

There was a blair witch but the real story had absaultely nothing to do with what happend in the movie and the real story is not nearly as scary. It was just a movie and not true at all

Look here. It's a sore ponit for some family friends of mine. One of the guys was a South African. He was a friend of our family friends. He went to the USA to study. They went on the expedition for real. The footage was genuine. When authorities searched for the students. They only found human blood. there were court cases and all sorts of things against the producers of the movie. Noone knows if its really a blair witch or something. The South African's family believe that they were murdered by criminals, probably Satanist or Drug gangs or something. I dont believe in the blair witch, but they are definitely missing. And they believed there was a blair witch before they were killed.
The movie should be banned. It is police evidence. How can they turn it into entertainment to make money out of it. The second Blair witch movie is pathetically fake.

I read the people involved in making the Blair Witch Movie, got their inspiration form the Bell Family Haunting....
I do not believe anything about the movie was real, maybe the fear, due to them scaring each other.

i saw a thing about the project it was pretty much add libbed each time they went to a certian spot in the woods in this park in washington.not sure where but anyway they would find little black film cases and it would tell them what was going to be done but they had no idea when."it didn't scare me but it did piss me off "heather told the interviewer.so they were pretty much adlib acting.but sorry to bust your bubble but the witch does not exisist.

Fake. Very fake. When the film premiered at a film festival (I can't remember which festival, now- Sundance perhaps?) the kids walked out on stage after it was over to field questions, and to show the audience that they were okay.
