I kinda feel the same way you do..... but I now have 6 grands and would not take a million for any of them.... they are beautiful and wonderful, but I worry about the future they may NOT have..... times have changed and things are NOT getting better... I fear for them a little too... but my faith keeps me smiling and hoping.... they are all in Gods hands........ God bless

I dont think so. Wars and disesases has been part of human life sinc ethe beginning and probably will always be but I see your point. How about caring for children whose parents cant care for them? They are already here! My grandmother was poor and never went to school because she was an enslaved servant in a third world country from age 9 to 21. However, she raised 13 children. None of them biological. Including my father (her nephew) whose mother died when he was 7. A poor uneducated woman with a huge heart and sense of responsibility changed the lives of many many people for many generations to come. Wish more people were a bit more like her. Mayher soul rest in peace.

I completely understand your fear. Everytime I look at my daughter I think about what she's going to have to deal with as she grows up. The world is full of problems right now. But what if my kid someday has a hand in fixing one or more of these problems? What if her kids are the ones to contribute to society? The future is full of opportunity and all we can do in the present is teach our kids the best we can and then hope they do well out there. I may be too optimistic but I think there are still far more good people than bad (well, maybe not in Congress!).

What does the future hold if everyone stops having children because of this.
Humans would die out in a few years. My future would stop with my grandchildren. Children are our future!!! And if they are taught the right things during the growing process, maybe this world will be a better place before we make the future non-existing

I think it would have been much worse to be born even 200 years ago. The diseases were worse with very little medical knowledge. If there was a famine, you were out of luck and you starved, no one was going to ship food in to you to rescue you (ever heard of the Irish Potato Famine? horrible). Leaders were sometimes ruthless killers who thought nothing of torturing you to get answers, or just for kicks! There was little chance of you moving up the social ladder.

Yes, today is a much better era to bring our children into.

Who knows what the future holds. Yes the current world is going a little crazy but its the circle of life. If no one contributes to the circle of life then it will die. And what would be the point of History?

Study history. Compare the human condition now, in a developed nation (I assume you are in one, as you are apparently using a computer) with, say, life as a peasant during the 30 Year's War.

Yes, things are grim. They used to be grimmer. They will be either less or more grim in the future. People will still have babies.

Children are a physical manifestation of hope.

We can't just lay down and die... someone has to keep going. Besides, having children is a strong motivation to change things for the better!
