This is more common than being believed--it's called "belief in a just world."
To accept that you could be raped for no reason contradicts the belief that people want to hold on to--that people generally get what they deserve. This is why it took 20 years to reform rape laws.
It even worse when the subject is child sexual abuse.
How would I feel? Very lonely.
