It wasn't polar bears, it was grizzlies up in Alaska. The guy's name was Timothy Treadwell, and the bear ended up eating him and his girlfriend...no joke, they cut the bear open and fished out body parts.

The movie was called "Grizzly Man." Stupid movie, because it made him look like a saint when he was really just some weirdo who had nothing better to do than run around with bears. He had no experience with wild animals at all, and that ended his life (it's said that as the bear was killing him, he was telling the bear "Stop, don't do that").

I don't like people mentioning Timothy Treadwell's name when they talk about Steve Irwin and how he died. Steve was a trained animal handler who grew up around those creatures and knew what he was doing (although sometimes it looked like he didn't). Timothy Treadwell was none of those things, and if you watch the movie you'll see that.

Have not heard of polar bears...but there was a guy living with Grizzly Bears. He and his girlfriend were killed by one of them. It was Timothy Treadwell. He was killed by one of the bears he had been close to a for quite some time.
