It seems that we have all given our power away, and become slaves?

Moo, Moo!

NOW, listen to me...take your dollar bill and turn it over and stare at the pyramid, at the eye in the pyramid. You know what that means, don;t you. We are watching you...we are keeping an eye on you. Watching your wallet, watching what you spend. Your money is ours. Your life is ours. You are nothing. You are pond scum.

...and now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Yes, nothing has changed over the centuries, the lower class still serves the upper class, the lower class is still perceived to be beasts of burden, and not worthy of acknowledgment.
One thing that has changed is the availability of knowledge. Education and knowledge used to be not only the prerogative of the ruling classes, but it was illegal to teach certain classes(ie. the American African slave). Now, thanks in part to cyber-space, TV, radio and the printing press, which all made the quest for knowledge available and affordable to the masses, knowledge is affordable, and almost free. We do not have to pay some monk to copy a text and "illuminate" it for us.
They say that we are entering another age, in which the gap between the rich and poor is growing wider. Maybe we will return to the time when any one not born to privilege was considered to be an animal.

We all need a higher reference. Choosing the right one can make the difference between slavery and freedom!
