Clotting of the blood is very important. If it doesn't clot, you will bleed to death. Clotting prevents more blood from leaving the body and it prevents bacteria and outside particals from entering the blood stream, which could cause disease and infection.

Blood Clotting seals the blood flow out from cut wound in the human body. It is the dead whiite blood corposules form that sealing matter in the form of clotting. I vaguely remember, it was Queen Elizebeth I of England died due to not having required property of blood clotting.
We can say "it is a necessity for a human being to lead a safe & proper living and is more than important as we hurt unknowingly & bleed at least once a day as children"

Clotting helps curb the flow of blood from open wounds, thats what stops a cut from bleeding you dry. If the blood doesn't clot, massive blood loss would occur which is quite serious.

The blood that flows in your body have such pressure that a small cut in any part of your body can keep the blood flowing out; making you unconscious first and then u will die in sleep. So it is important to stop the flowing out of blood from your body. So it needs a cork on the wound. And blood gets clot to make that cork on your open wound.
Also, it helps to get the wound dry and body cells can grow there to cover the wound.

Without blood clotting, even the smallest cut or bleeding injury could cause you to bleed to death. I doubt any of us would make it through childhood without clotting blood.

You would bleed to death through your gums, you bladder, and various other areas. I had to take anticoagulants back in 1988, after which I learned I was hypersensitive to them. Woke up one morning to a toilet full of blood. The clotting factors are important in prevent the penetration of blood through thin membranes, like your sinuses. It is created by the liver by processing Vitamin K from fish, green vegetables, etc. Since I couldn't take the anticoagulants, I had to cut out anything in my diet that has high level of Vitamin K.
