It depends on few factors. The first factor is : Qualification. What is your qualification? The second factor is : Age. How old are you when your contract ends? The third factor is: How long have you been in the service? The fourth factor: Salary. What is your current pay? Bearing in mind, there are a lot of job opportunities for SAF officer when their contract ends but it depends on the 3 main factors. But the pay in the common market may not be as attractive as what SAF is paying you

After working in a artificial environment for 30 years, the SAF officer is ill-equipped to work in a "normal" job. Either he is saved by some government offer of a deadwood job, or he can go and wash toilet.

Hi,

That will depend on what is your designation and which part of the SAF do you work in. Eg, Navy technical people usually end up in ST... DSTA....

But more often than not, when their new job would mean they need to take a pay cut....

So many of them venture into businesses as it will give them higher returns...

I run a business that specializes in developing global enterpreneurs and so if you think you are interested in that, you can email me at verityy@yahoo.com ;)

Good luck! ;)

That would depend on your area of expertise while in airforce, navy or army.

Airforce: Engineers/technicians/sales personnel in aviation industry

Navy: Engineers/technicians/sales personnel for marine companies

Or you could always venture into teaching/insurance/sales

Good luck
