G'day Pistol Pete,
Thank you for your question.
The University of Southern California has a strong record.
The Trojans have been a football mainstay throughout NCAA history and, in recent years, have consistently ranked in the top 5 of the final BCS and AP Polls. The football team is regarded as the centerpiece of an athletic program that has won more NCAA men's individual and men's team titles than any other university and is third in co-ed team titles, behind fellow Pac-10 schools Stanford and UCLA.
They are number one in the Rose Bowl with a record of 21-9 and 28-16 in bowl games making them number two. As a result, many talented players are going to want to go there.
I have attached sources for your reference.
Regards

USC strong will wait until the third or fourth game to determine that, a win over the Razorbacks who went 4-7 last year with only 2 wins in conference isnt exactly a great measuring stick. Maybe Arkansas will win the SEC this year and prove me wrong but I doubt it. One week in and most of the top 25 played patsies and we want to use them as a measuring stick for our teams success.

USC is strong again because of the system Pete Carroll has put in place. This year, the defense is stronger but we don't have the Reggie Bush or LenDale White to carry the load. If Booty is allowed to open up the playbook, he has enough weapons in Dwayne Jarrett, Patrick Turner and Steve Smith to throw to. Offense is usually the last to come around but when it does, watch out!!

Because Most high schools kids want to be champions and with the national titles USC has won of late...the good players choose to go there for a chance to win another one...success is the best friend of recruiting

They are always strong, and will always be strong, when footbaLL PLAYERS in high school are looking for a college to go to, they are going to look at established schools who win. USC will always have talent year in and year out. They are definately lacking in talent from what they were last year, but there defense should make up for that.

Because in the last 5 yrs since Pete Carroll has returned them to an elite program they're getting some damn good recruits. USC even in their down periods is attractive to recruits cause it's in LA/Hollywood.

u really think their strong this year?? they may have a good chance but strong may not be the word---remember they lost half their team-the best parts of thier team to the nfl and they have inexperienced qbs...it may take a season or two to reclaim their throne

I don't know. Something tells me that the first game was easy for them but when they get into the bulk of their season, they'll start losing games. I just don't think they will be able to pull off another spectacular season.
