I am 40 weeks and 2 days pregnant. So am walking a lot. Yesterday i walked so much my back hurt. I couldnt sleep properly. I woke up every two hours feeling no pain or anything, just and itchy stomach. It was really itchy, it burns when i scratch. Last time i woke up i had a stomach pain (my stomach itself, not my belly) like when you have a cold and it was contracting which is painful. I made something hot to drink, not sure if it will help.
Also, under and above my navel is a bit blue in color, like bruised but only hurts everywhere under my navel when i touch.
Any advice would be great. Thanx in advance.

First of all the itching after walking is from your belly stretching, when you walk your muscles stretch, and around your belly the skin is thin, so later it itches, try a good loyion with vitamin e in it. The pains you are feeling are braxton hicks or even the start of early contractions, this is so normal I had contractions for weeks before my son was born and I was dialated to 5 for almost a month! crazy, Your under area where your belly is darker is from stretching and hormonal changes this will go away when the baby is born nothing you can do till then, you most likley have a nerve that stretches across your belly the pressure is making it hurt and it can also cause funny colors of blue to brown on your
belly Don't worry! GOOD LUCK HAPPY BABY!

I would say to stop scraching your belly and to soak in a tub of warm water to put the moisture back into your skin. it sounds like you were wearing something that rubbed your tummy too much while you were walking.
keep up the walking thou it really will help in more ways than one.
you should have a doctors app soon so ask them what you should or shouldnt do.
if all else fails go to the ER it really is better to be safe than sorry.
and theres no stupid questions or concerns when your preg. the people at the hospital are use to it and it what they are there for.

Your skin has stretched so far that it is causing pain I had this problem and the soreness under my naval and the itching . You are probably really close to labor and you are more than likely haveing labor contractions keep and eye on how long and how far apart they are and if the pain gets to bad go to the hospital even if you dont thin you are in labor you dont want any complications !

I agree that you could possibly be having contractions... maybe stronger Braxton-Hicks. Also your belly being itchy could mean that your baby has moved further down in your body and is stretching other bits and pieces of your abdomen further. (I know.. "Greeeaaat!" lol) In any case I would, at least, phone your OBGYN and let him/her know what's going on.

you are having some contractions....you might want to check with your dr.....don't be alarmed because you can be in labor for days.....you may only be dilated slightly....go get checked or at least keep your dr updated! GOOD LUCK! =D
