My mother used to put a shoebox with 1 side cut out on my keyboard to prevent me from looking. I'm telling you, it wasn't the most enjoyable method.
If you're not ready to learn all on your own, a computer program is my best bet. A few programs I know about are 'Type to Learn' and 'Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing'. 'Mavis Beacon' has been around for over 10 years and is the most effective one that I've ever used.
There's a link below to the latest version available for purchase on Amazon. Good luck.

You don't really need a typing program to improve your accuracy & speed, although it would help. Practice a minimum of 30 minutes a day, using specific keys untill your fingers just know where to go without thought. Use a dictionary to help you to read & type those words accuratly. Pick a section that begin with letters that are harder for you to type, just go down the list. Later type the description, you will also learn some new words to. Once you get comfortable with words, get a cook book or a statement from bill, etc, to get used to the numbers. Practice using the 10 key side of the key board. steadfast 1 <><

4 reading, u must exercise ur eyes.. to increase the speed of their movements and also make memory exercises so u can memorize what ur reading. How to exercise ur eyes? well in a parragraph draw dots down to each word. Then see each point in order, the faster u can... dont read... just follow the dots w ur eyes. Then also try to increase ur velocity by reading parragraphs while u calculate the time (1 min). Then count each word 4 minute, so u will know if ur improving. Play memory games and try to remember what u read each time. So what u read will also be in ur memory. 4 typing, the more u practice the faster u will type.
