How about helping the millions of people that REALLY need it down in Darfur.
Why does everybody has to wait until there's massive massacres to actually care? The Holocaust, the Rwandan genocide, people started caring and making tons of money from movies, documentaries etc ... AFTER millions of people died!!
WHY?

strong and soft... I wasn't talking about money, I was talking about stoping those violent, barbaric terrorists down there..
Here, they're saying they're trying to help the people of Iraq ( who by the way can't stand americans)..
I was saying if you really want to help people, the people of Darfur are in more despair than I have ever seen and we can still stop it before it's too late!

Because the government is ran by rich people only trying to get richer. Dick Cheney has made BILLIONS from the war in Iraq and if there were oil reserves or another gold mine in Sudan, the government would step in and do what was needed to profit. Meanwhile, the public is more concerned with what Tom Cruise's new baby looks like that the pain and suffering of millions worldwide.

It's inhabited by a people that are so violent of nature that they can't even have a form of government. Sending money there would be like sending money for the schools in our big cities. What's the point? They'll only be destroyed anyway. We want to blame our political leaders or the lack of oil...how juvenile (I hope there isn't a swimsuit part of this pageant...I want to hug the world). Maybe we should take a serious look at the people that are responsible for these crimes and quit blaming the white man.

People are week and selfish. We should have focused as much of our reconstruction efforts on Africa as we did on Europe after the Second World War and none of this would be happening. Europe for the most part has spent it's time trying to keep or regain colonies instead of helping Africa improve itself, they want to own it. We elect leaders like Clinton who start to do something and quit when they realize it is a lot of work, bloody work, he had no stomach. But it was okay to let genocide happen.

My reach simply doesn't extend that far.

The US is powerful, but not powerful enough to solve the rest of the world's problems. Iraq has shown what a mess we can get into by trying.

There's huge amounts of need everwhere, but the resources we can devote to them is limited.

It's sad to say but since there is no potential money in the Sudan, the American government will probably never actively intervene.

It's because Sudan has no oil reserves.
