Print the file into the PDF printer.

1. Go to www.cutepdf.com
2. Download the files gcoverter and cutewriter.
3. Doubleclick on gconverter to install it first then the cutewriter.
4. Open your Word document then click on Print.
5. At the printer, choose CutePDF Writer.
6. Type the file name then click on OK.
7. Open that output file using an Adobe Acrobat Reader.

They won't tamper your files in PDF format and you can always sue them for plagiarism when they copy and paste.

Two ways I have used:

http://www.pdf995.com/ has a program that will do it for you. It's either free and ad-supported or $9.95 - you choose.

http://www.openoffice.org/ is a replacement for all the MS-Office tools - Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. It's free, and you can export files straight to PDF format.

Go to PDF995.com and download the PDF driver

You won't "save" an item to PDF, you'll actually "print" it... It will install a printer in your control panel, and "printing" will prompt you for a filename and location.

You need a PDF writer. Once you download the program, it'll set itself up as a "print driver" and you'd choose that as your printer, it'll spit it out in pdf for you....
