Why is it that whenever someone has a problem with a hamster wheel that is NOT related to it having or not having rungs, people immediately jump in and chastise you for having a wheel with rungs and urge you to go buy a new one. You tell someone that it has crossbars and they suddenly assume that must mean it also has a runged surface. I'm getting tired of people telling me to get a wheel with a solid surface when I already have on. If I had a wheel with rungs and had problem with the rungs, I would say that my wheel had rungs. Why do people assume that just because you are asking a question in one area, it must mean you are not knowledgeable in any related area?

i didnt chastise u. u asked for advice and i answered your question and offered a little extra advice. like the other girl mentioned it was likely that u had that kind of wheel. thats why i sent links with my answer so u could see right from wrong IN CASE u had the wrong one. if it didnt apply u could just ignore that part. u then went on to pick some retarded answer as best answer when i actually answered the question. 2 people mentioned the wheel---wow how offensive! we didnt say "u got the wrong wheel u stupid whore!" noone made any assumptions about your knowledge but after reading this question it's obvious u have very little and dont want help with your hamster. people r trying to help u and u criticize them. when answering questions u have to assume because u arent given enough info and u want to give the best answer. i dont waste my time answering questions with "i don't know" i only answer them if i can give a decent answer. i'm on here to help hamsters not just rack up points or give "funny" answers. all u had to do was add in your post---i dont have a runged wheel! regardless my answer would be the same, but i wouldve taken off the extra info.

gilly bean-no they don't--another misinformed person.

I think the whole rung controversy is a diabolical plot by the nazzi monks to divert our attentions away from the blatant theft of precious crystals hidden on the surface of mars

Urban Cowgirl- ALL wheels have some sort of cross bars on the inside, for traction. It'd be pretty hard for them to run in a wheel or ball with no traction, wouldn't it?

two things;
wheels with bars are a real danger to hamster feet.
real real.
any animal lover will advice against it, no matter what.

secondly, if askers were to say clearly WHAT wheel they have
(e.g. i have a Crittertrail SilentRunner 12" for my hamster....) responents could check it out for themself and have a clearer idea of what the askers could mean.

alternatively... who gives a f***?

PS: when reading some of the answers, you can't sometimes help thinking... WTF, but that's a different issue, isn't it?
cheers >;)
