I was a proud VZW customer for almost three years. Up until I moved into a new house in my town and I dropped EVERY SINGLE CALL. I live in an urban area and Verizon said they were fixing a cell tower in the area and I should just wait a few months. Right. That to me sounds like crap! I've since switched over to Cingular, and I rarely drop a call in my new home and I also enjoy the roll-over minutes. I do miss the IN-messaging VZW offered... Free pic and text msg to other VZW customers as long as you were enrolled in the "IN" network. There are alot of mobile options out there these days. Good luck.. don't go to a mall kiosk... go to a real store to get the best cell plan available...

honestly, try t-mobile, verizon, cingular and other services for 30 days. each provider has different coverage.

cingular:
+'s
good coverage
GSM phones
more phone options

-'s
bad customer service
spotty coverage in some areas
dropped calls

verizon:
+
very good coverage
good customer service.
strong network and good media offerings.

-
verizon controls the phones it gives you, in the sense they have been known to disable features like bluetooth

t-mobile:
+
very good customer service
GSM phones
average coverage
lots of minutes for plans

-
spotty coverage

I've had the best luck with Verizon. The in-network plan lets me talk to family and friends, who also have Verizon, for free without impacting my minutes. I do a lot of traveling all over the U.S. and have never had a roaming charge and usually have good reception (except in Oklahoma for some reason).
