The women (or most of them) are in it for the needed $ and some of them are even sold into prostitution as SLAVES. The men are the ones who are in it for the sex and whose hearts are in the wrong place. MEN are the reason prostitution exists. And they have the audacity to call THEM the sluts? Why are men always the one to judge and call them "dirty hos" when they're the most sexually immoral ones themselves? Stop and think about this.

I don't think men should be praised for being sluts either. It doesn't make them a "stud", it just makes them a sleazebag.

I don't know why we can't shift the blame on this to men. Once in a Criminology class we were talking about victimless crime and some girl said prostitution was not a victimless crime because of the poor wife whose husband was cheating on her. My reply was that she is a victim, but not because prostitutes are available. She's a victim because she has a bad husband.

Most of the "Johns", most of the lawmakers, and most of the religious "leaders" are male. Guess which gender makes up most of the prostitutes. The "law" prosecutes the prostitues first not because of right or wrong, but because of which gender has power.

Prostitution is a matter of supply and demand: if there were no buyers (Johns) there would be no sellers (prostitutes). The sellers don't grab Johns off the street at gunpoint and force them to have sex, the Johns do it willingly. If any government were serious about stopping the trade, they'd legalize selling and make buying illegal.

Canada did that with marijuana (possession is legal, selling is not) and it worked.

Because we still have a very sexist culture. If a woman sleeps around, she is seen as a slut or whore, if a man does then he is a stud. Women are still supposed to be the chaste ones, while men have the "primal instinct" to sleep around. It's as archaic as believing that women don't enjoy sex. With prostitution, men justify it as a need, and that it's not their fault that they have to use a prostitute to satisfy that need, or perhaps they are a bit more kinky than their partner. It is a horrible and unjust double standard and if you look at Johns, they come from ever walk of life, every race and income and religion.

Right men are equally responsible and should share the blame too, if any.
