Virus on my pc..?

Question

My buddy was looking up porn on the computer and nows theres a sh*tload of virus' on the PC. Somehow he downloaded something and it wont delete. it says that the file is in use and I cant delete it.. Though the file is nowhere to be found( Ive used search and nothing). I have ran two different virus scanners, deleted all temp files and everything and still it wont go away.. Any thoughts or suggestions?

If he downloaded it then it is most likely spyware/adware/malware all of which will bring more harm to your pc if left alone. Meaning they may be secretly using your connection to bring viruses/trojans into your computer and logging all your activities then sending them to a third party.

**If even after you unlock it and try to delete it and are unsuccessful then the file in running in a system process>boot into safe mode(press f8 while booting up)>scan with ewido, spybot, or any antivirus program

***DO NOT use system restore. Using system restore will not solve your problem. Leave it at that.

Try Spybot-Search and destroy form http://www.download.com or/and Adaware SE from the same site. Both are really good. Its more likely that ur pc is infected with spywares rather than viruses.
Spybot is the best pick of those. Both are free and spybot include realtime protection for Internet explorer.

( Run system restore only as the final option coz, during restore u may have the backup of spywares or viruses too)

virus are very common now in days. sad huh?
restart your computer and while it starts loading hit the f8 key till you get a list, hit safe mode. when it loads up start all your scans, when its done clean it out. hit "control alt delete" go to "all processes" then end process.


if you dunno what scans you should run i recomend
1: ad aware ex
2:spybot search and destroy
3:samantech/norten
4:spyware doctor (gotta pay)


if he downloaded anything you better delete it manually to make sure it is off.

"start,controll panel, add and remove programs."

i would clear your cache
internet explorer
"tools,delete temp file"

mozilla
"tools, privacy, clear cache."

to stop him from geting on porn again go to all the brosers you got like yahoo or google and look up something in images and you will see "safe mode is off"

turn it on and this will be as a blocker.

go to mydocuments and set parent code and set a password so he can't get on it.

run ewido it Will find your problems DO NOT system restore are you will have more problems than its worth. also if you know what he downloaded it could be in add/remove see if its anything weird there . you can check your program files also or where ever you save stuff when you download. if you feel this is a problem set your computer to not load to these sites.

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
