1. Hold your breath for 30 seconds and then release it.
2. Breathe into a paper bag five times in a row.
3. Sip 10 consecutive gulps slowly from a glass of water without stopping to take a breath.
4. Immerse your face in ice-cold water for 30 seconds.
5. Swallow a teaspoon of dry white granulated sugar.
6. If you began hiccuping after taking a medication, seek medical help. Also see a doctor if the hiccups don't stop after 24 hours (3 hours for young children) of if they are extremely painful.

Listen to me. Get a glass of water, hold your breath, while still holding your breath, drink the glass of water as much as possible. You won't have the hiccups after doing this.

Burp in the middle of a hiccup. That usually works for me. It's almost as if one short blast of air overcomes the other...

Hold your breath..or try a hot cup of tea...the heat will relax the muscle spasms that cause the hiccups

Hi Ava!
I hold my breath!
Except I really enjoy hiccups, I don't really want to get rid of them. I tell the kids to hold their breath.

There is only one way that works for me and fast. I gulp down some air into my stomach area and make myself belch. It works for me and has for most of my life. A hiccup is trapped air in your stomach. You can also try drinking some carbonated soda pop like Dr. Pepper. It always makes me belch.

This has to be in conversation:
Hiccupee: "May I get a drink of water?"
2nd person: "What for?"
Hiccupee: "Because I have the hiccups."
2nd person: "Prove it."

Have someone accuse of you faking just to get attention. Then they challenge you to hiccup again just to prove you're not faking.
You won't be able to.
