oh yeah, that's how I've learned to live my life. Say something a women doesn't want to hear, even if it's the truth and you're in for a world of arguments, frustration, etc etc. sometimes the truth just isn't worth it. The safe answer usually does not have two meanings and easily appeases most women.

My experience is the AVERAGE person in general gives "safe" answers and tell "white" lies!
Men and Women do it!
Men smell bad and F'd up the world, I'll give you that! But girls can be so misleading too!
I started an experiment about two years ago.
Lost a handful of "friends" doing it, but I haven't held back or told a SINGLE, little lie in all this time! It was challenging for the fist few days. Later, instead of staying aloof, I got hooked on being brutally honest, thus some friends ducking out. Now its balanced, I usually warn people that I am incapable or intolerable of the lie and if they are ready for the truth, then bring it on, otherwise, don't ask!
I don't know ANYONE who tells the truth at all at this point, just myself. Its lonely out here!

Well honestly can be painful or pleasant.
So which do you want?
Nothing is wrong with "safe". That is a way to spare your feelings and most often its not a subject that is "really" that important to debate over- right?!

My ex always told me that we didn't spend more time together because of his job. Wrong! After we broke up, and after much prodding, he admitted the problem was that I wasn't the right religion for him to have a serious relationship with me. Work was his safe answer.

More men would tell the truth if women would stop trying to read between the lines to find the "hidden" meaning. I mean really if a woman asks"does this make me look fat?" how are we supposed to answer this. If we tell the truth we are pigs, if we lie than we are pigs.
