I have been on Birthcontrol pills for about 2 years, I stopped taking them about 6 months ago hoping to have another pregnancy. I am starting to get worried. I have a 3 year- old and I think it is about time he had a little sister or brother to play with. Could someone please tell me how long it takes, I have been told so many different things.

i heard it takes 2X as long as the time you've been taking it. so, if you've been taking it for 2 years, it will affect your chances to conceive for an additional 2 years (total 4 years.)

It took my husband and I over a year to get pregnant with this baby (our forth) so I know how you feel.
It can take some time for you to get back to normal after stoping any type of BC (i had a IUD for 3 years)
I wish you all the luck in the world and send you lots of baby dust! good luck!

some women get pregnant the month after stopping BC others it takes time. I guess were the type that take time.

the best advice i can give you is relax and dont "try" for a while if after about 8 months your not preg yet then start tracking your cycle. still dont stress over getting pregnant. (this can be hard but the stress can decrease your chances alot)
My hubby and I always go camping alone for a few days when ever we've reached the end of our TTC rope and it works every time! (we have come home pregnant both times we went camping alone together!) (the two middle pregnacys werent "tryed" for so we didnt need a camping trip)

I was on OrthoTricycliene (spelling?) for almost 6 years, then stopped taking it and got pregnant from my very next period. My baby will be 5 months soon. However, my sister was taking the same pill for about 3 years, stopped it and then didn't get pregnant for about 2 years after that. She only got pregnant after she started working out at the gym, upon recommendation of her doctor who said it would "normalize" her hormone levels.

It can take a year to get pregnant after being on the pill that long. I was on a low-dose pill (Yasmin) for 3 months and got pregnant 2 weeks after stopping them.

Seriously, it is possible to fall pregnant straight away. This is why we're told to use other precautions if we skip a pill!

On the otherhand, every BODY is different.

I got pregnant first month (sorry, I realise that doesn' t help your situation) after stopping the pill so it just proves that time makes no difference.

I wish you all the best though.

my gyno told me that it could take up to 6 months just because your body had adjusted to those hormones and it takes some time to get your cycle back on track, but it is still possible to get pregnant during that time. Your chances are just lower for I think up to six months to a year.

it cna take from 3months to 2 years to fall pregnant after being on the pill, as i was told was to try and hve sex less this may it gives your mans little swimmers to get stronger, so you are more likley to fall pregnant, also a couple days before your period is the best time to try and fall pregnant as this is when you are most fertile.

Usually 5-6 months. Some times longer... some times shorter... it all just depends on your body.
