Because Israel will not walk off in to the sea and die on their own and Hezbollah and Iran feel they must push them in the watter and hold them under is why.
If Hezbolla and Iran would lay down their weapons the fighting would be over and end right that very second. But if Israel would lay down their weapons they would be slaughtered where ever they might be standing. There would be headless Israeli body's every where.
And if Israel wanted to they could end the war but would cost a lot of lifes around that part of the world. They have the power to do it just are good people and really don't want to have to kill everyone in the middle east.

What do you expect Israel to do when she is attacked and her citizens murdered by terrorists...
What do you think the families of the victims killed in the WTC
expect our govt to do about it ?
If all Muslims laid down their arms today , there would be peace in the Mid East tomorrow...
If all Israeli's laid down their arms today , Israel would be destroyed and all Jews murdered by the end of the month..
No one with any intellectual honesty can deny this..
Now...
