YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see so many homeless people, hungry people, sick people.
But NASA is more interested in what's going on on Mars than starving people.
How about helping out Katrina and Rita victims before we explore space more !!!

I don't think the U.S. is spending on NASA for no good reason. Space research and exploration will let us know many things for that we don't have the power to know. If you think there is dearth of money to be used in better purposes because of NASA spending,I think you are wrong. The U.S. has no dearth of money for any purpose. Sometimes it becomes necessary to spend just to stabilise the economy. It has the largest share in the IMF and World Bank. It is the political decision that restricts the U.S. to refrain from doing better purposes as you think.

Actually the space program has helped with scientific and medical research. As crowded as the earth is becoming, what do you think the future holds? I think that one day people will be able to live in space. There will be space cities. (Unless the world comes to an end first).

NASA employs thousands of people (so without it these people would be unemployed)...space science has discovered cures for diseases, less invasive procedures for medical testing, materials used in more realistic artificial limbs, discovered the new material used to prevent firemen from getting burned, the lighter weight, more effective protective vests used by military and police, and the list goes on

Yes , there are so many other worthy quality of life programs like cancer research, anti-aging medications, war on intoxicants, vegetable liberation, entertainer and pro sports salaries, voter education, national council on raising self esteem, war on obesity or finally the prosecution

Absolutely. With the money they spend at NASA we could probably provide health coverage for every American citizen who doesn't have it at work or can't afford it!
