Women in the Indian subcontinent, which includes Pakistan, are pretty well-placed, at home, in the industry and in the government, though there is still a long way for them to be fully emancipated. All the countries in the Indian sub-continent have had women leaders - Prime Ministers or Presidents - India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. They are also pretty flexible and responsive to changes - political, social, economic and cultural changes that have been taking place in recent years in the region.

I don't think Pakistani woman would be too affected by the changes that take place. We live in 21st century, we don't walk around naked, hunting animals like in Stone Age, but women in Pakistan have same status as in Stone Age. Pakistan is a male domination country which requires a submissive wife, mother and daughter. They all are obedient to the males in their house and they think it's "as it should be". Also, lots of women r kept illitterate cause that way they can be "ruled" and guided by men's own wish. And I think same it will be 200 years from now. You can google for "pakistani woman nowadays"...you'll see nothing has changed.

I think the pervasive western influences are bound to change the cultural outlook of the east. Lifestyle including the fashion is the first causality. Cultural revolutions like these do have positives and negative impact on the society as a whole. If you see rampant increase in drugs, violence, sex, armed robbery on the other hand you also see the uplifted status of women. Today's women are not only confident & vibrant but also bold to venture into new areas. For example this new item I came across today:

I know Bin Laden wanted to make them into prostitutes. So he can make money off of the women. He wanted to start them off as early as 13.
