Okay, I am actually looking for some good DVD burning software. Have a couple different programs, but they suck! (and don't always play in my dvd player)

use the DVD writer (DVD RW) burn the image or the file on DVD and yes it will work on the DVD player, but if the file u r burning is not been copied from the DVD disk originally to the computer, the it will not work. so u can only burn a DVD to another DVD i.e creating a an exact copy of the an DVD disk nu already have.

Use a DVD burning program it will take the steps you need to burn and finalize it to work in a DVD player

Rather than burning the DVD as "Data" you'll want to make sure your burning software is set to Video.

If your particular model of DVD player can't read DVD-Rs, there's nothing you can do about it. Do a quick Google search on your model name and number to see if it has that capability.
