I'm thinking of switching to "Hughes Net" high speed internet that you get from satellite because no one cares to re-wire my community to get high speed internet through our phone or cable wires.
However, "Hughes Net" is outrageously expensive and the only way that I can afford it is to dump AT&T for Vonage, for the savings.
Vonage requires a broadband connection, I've searched their site and can't determine if that connection needs to be through cable/dsl or is a satellite connection will do.
DOES ANYONE OUT THERE IN ANSWERS LAND HAVE BOTH 'HUGHES NET' AND 'VONAGE' THAT THEY USE TOGETHER? Any comments or suggestions? Please and Thank you!

The use of Satellite Internet would not be an ideal connection for Vonage because of the potential lag time. Although Hughes Net will claim service around rain will be similar to that Dish Network etc., I can tell you Hughes Net will drop the signal much easier. Lighting miles away will often make your service unavailable. You also have to contend with the Fair Access Policy which may make long phone calls impossible.
