It will end when the United States stops propagating horrible events in the World. We are our worst enemy. We lie to each other all the time. We look down our noses at every other people in the world and we reflect our own baloney on to many other people.
The United States has created an illusion of a Country that most Americans seem to really believe. How do I know this? Because I went through the last half the the twentieth century, and I was involved in a good portion of it, and it is clear that after WWII the United States started fooling itself in some very substantial ways that are know getting harder and harder to ignore.
For example, how did George W. Bush ever become President of the United States?
It was a horrible mistake, but why did so many Americans miss the reality of it. It was not really hard to see that young Bush was a salesmen at best. Nothing wrong with being a salesmen, but not as a President.
First, Bush was a Governor of Texas and why would that not qualify him for President? Will the Texas Governorship is a weak Governor position. The power in Texas is in the assembly. What Bush did well was slap locals on the back and tell jokes. He is talented at that stuff.
Second, Bush never did anything in his life that qualified him for the presidency. Oil company owner, his father's money. Baseball team excutive, fathers position and money. On the boards of Cooporations, father's influence, and so on.
Worked with Lee Atwater in reelection bid of father, and who was Lee Atwater? Lee was the dirty trickster of the Republican Party. Young Bush learned a skill or two in this situation, but nothing to prepare him for the job he has now.
We see enemies were we should be seeing our own short comings.
Yes, the towers fell and thousand lives were cut short. There is no disputing the pain, but the cause is a different matter. The cause has a lot to do with the money we send to the Middle East for our energy needs.
The money never gets to the average citizen, so the average citizen does not favor us. Why should they? We are propping up the authoritarians that rule them with an iron fist.
We are not making any friends among the average people in the Middle East. We are kissing the behinds of the ruling class. That is why we are our own worst enemies.

i think its hilarious that people think we are actually fighting a war on terrorism .. but really its sad ... in reality its a war for total control of the planets population ... the war will end when there is a complete disarmamant of the worlds population and all power is consolidated in a single govt ... and through technology no person will be able to resist the govt ... this is the definition of winning the war on terror because anyone who is against those in power and their policies is a terrorist ... people just dont get it that the war is about them and the govt controlling them ... the sand people are not the threat .. the threat is the elite in power and the govts slowly eradicating the rights and liberties of the common man.

Heck no.....this whole jihad thing has gotten started and it isn't going to end anytime soon. As long as you have these radical thinking muslims out there, it won't go away. Not even with the Democrats in power !!!

What people don't understand that the Arabs are the decendants of Abraham's illegitimate son, Ishmael as stated in the bible in the book of Genensis....
The angel also said to her(Hagar, the maidservant):

You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery.
He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers. (NIV, Genesis 16) .

Therefore, it was very prophetic that we still have problems with the muslims(not all, mind you). God has foretold us this.

the cold war was more serious and dramatic than the war on terror and that ended. Few people predicted that a super power like the soviet union would collapse so soon.

how can a war on terror end,,, the terrorists that attacked America on 9-11 were al Qaeda,, we do need to pursue #1 terrorist Osama bin Laden and the Taliban,,, they still have training camps in Pakistan,,where the al Qaeda network and the Taliban training camps originated,,, on the Pakistan, Afghanistan border,, US troops are not happy about this,, but they can't stop it,,, Musharraf is a Bush alley,, he says keeping the Taliban training camps is a military option for Pakistan to defend themselves,,, like the Hezbollah in Lebanon,,, Bush supports the Lebanon government,,,Israel will not destroy them,, they continue to train,,, the Hamas are terrorists,, in Palestine,,, they control the government there,, democratically elected of course,,Bush did spread democracy but the terrorists are in control, and they have nuclear weapons,,,, N. Korea is a totalitarian government, of Kim Jong il,,,,they have concentration camps there,,1 in 4 are in their military,, their nuclear capabilities have grown a lot since the axis of evil speech from Bush,,,,, Ahmadinejad,, in Iran will not cower to threats by Bush,,, they will continue their nuclear program,, if the US and the UN sanction them to death,, they will live on roots, and rice,,and beans,,
also,, the rapists and child molesters,, in the US ,,, the child slave market,, this is terror for our children,, is this part of the war on terror,,,

The war on terror won't end until we make it clear to the terrorists that we will hunt them down to the ends of the earth and destroy their DNA completly.

Awesome question! Never. It's not supposed to end and at some point it will never exist - only the perception of a so called war will exist.

I am the Fringe and Orwell tried to tell us but we just didn't listen!

Even as a voter for Bush I don't believe it will end anytime soon. At first I supported us invading Iraq, but now we have accomplished what we set out to do, so let's leave asap.
