sadly there are thousands. I lost a husband and a brother. Not in the last 2 days though.

Yes. Today was the first day of school for Chicago public schools, which is where I work. Usually everyone is excited and upbeat, students and teachers alike. However, this morning we found out that one of our co-workers husband had died the day before. Talk about a downer. He died from cancer, she had to be sedated. He only found out in January.

Unfortunately, I'm sure it happens every hour of every day. Some tragically, and others calmly in their sleep.
But the loss is the same. Especially when you have left a family that loved you so much.

But, life goes on, right?

I was asking myself that last night after watching a tribute to Steve Irwin. I gave my husband a extra bug kiss last night and let my kids stay up just a little longer to be close dad.

With as many people as there are in the U.S. alone, I'd have to say yes. People die almost every minute of the day, it's just sad when that minute is someone we love, know, respect, or admire.
