First birthday! When she's older she will ALWAYS have the halloween theme party... 1 year is much more special and memorable!

I would choose the 1st birthday theme. She will turn 1 only once, and this 1st birthday is always going to be the most special birthday of all. Also she is always going to have other birthdays so you will have plenty of other birthdays to celebrate using a Halloween theme.

Do the first birthday theme mom. It's a huge milestone for her and something you are going to want to look back on. My b-day is the 28th and my parents did alot of the halloween themed parties for me, but they kept all the major ones regular birthday parties such as the 1st, my 10th (they had a cool decade party) and my 16th, which I will never forget, as well as my 21st that I vaguely remember thanks to my sisters! You'll have lots of birthdays in between to do halloween...so enjoy her first!

At that age I would say why not go for both.......shes going to be young enough that you arent going to hear any complaints about it and second of all with children that have birthdays that close to a holiday its easier to combine them and its less costly in the long run.............my son's birthday is a week before christmas and planning his birthday part is brutal because by the time it comes most of his playmates are off visiting out of town family so I find if i do an end of school before holiday party they usually make it a point to come

Have it with a little of both. If she likes something like bears or some other animals. Do it with the animals dress up, but don't over do it and take away from the birthday. Maybe have some pumpkin carved to say Happy B-day, her name and maybe a # 1. What ever you do it will be special. Happy Birthday to her.

Birthday theme. She will hate having her birthday near a holiday as she grows up because people will try to combine them.

You are celebrating her birthday. I would say that a birthday theme would be appropriate. Would you want a Christmas theme for YOUR birthday party??
