We do alot of things in life that we don't want to. I use to bartend for 11 years. I got so sick of listening to the "oh whoa is me" stories that I literally would get migraines on my way to work. But the minute I got there, I put on my happy face for the crowd...tips were a nice incentive. It was hard at first, but once I got use to smiling, it became a habit and less of a thing I had to fake. Although there were a few that didn't deserve kindness, I never let it show. I simply just mixed a bad drink and smiled (knowing what I did) as they tried to choke it down!

My smile is fake. 100% fake. My customers are all spoiled brats who think the world owes them a favor and there's nothing I can do about it. So my answer is no. I do not mean my smile at work. People make me sick. Except you all here on Yahoo answers. As long as you don't show up where I work, then everything changes.

Are you kidding me?
I am fakin it all freakin day...granted there a few genuine happy faces mixed there but for the most part...ie when I have to venture out of my "department" and mingle with the "others" I slap the instasmiley on my face and do the small talk thing until I make my way back to my department where I acutally work with people I can be real with.
anyways...sorry for the rambling

Honestly? No. I work in retail and most of the time I feel like I have my smile pasted on, faking cheerfulness because it's my job. This job is draining the life out of me. . .

For the most part I am a bubbly person. But there are days..such as today hehe, that I am not in the mood. Too much drama at work today..I almost started crying. Anyways, I had to try my hardest to put on my best smile and pretend all was okay. :)

I don't smile because I feel I should. If I'm smiling it's because I want to. I hate fake people.

We all fake it from time to time, but in my current work environment I usually mean it.
