Traditionally, it's been Tim Duncan, but he had an off season due to foot problems. Tim Duncan may well wind up being the best power forward ever to date. Kevin Garnett had a bad knee. Dirk Nowitzki was the best of the 3 last season. He's better offensively than KG & TD, but his defense and rebounding doesn't quite equal Duncan's or Garnett's. He seems to be improving there too, as he's shown in the playoffs. Dirk gets better every year, and when he becomes a major force defensively, he'll conceivably be better than Duncan or Garnett.

No doubt Tim Duncan. He has the most skill and he is the most accoplished. Nowitzki and Garnett are great but they dont make their teammates better. Tim Duncan would make anyone in the world's top five every time.

When he's healthy, Tim Duncan.
Let's see:
Garnett - no championships
Nowitzki - no championships
Duncan - Three championships

Three other power forwards to keep an eye on this season. Elton Brand, Amare Stoudemire, and Dwight Howard (I don't consider him a center).

I would go for Nowitzki, phenomenal power forward, can shoot well, has the quickness and can run the floor. A nightmare to defend. Duncan would have been it but his game is on the downslide, age is catching up on him and he does not have Nowizki's shooting range. Garnet? He's one of the best but his game is also on the downslide.

I would not throw either off my team. Either one make your team better and could get you to the play offs. The reason Duncan has made it to the playoffs is because of the teams he has had around him.

If the other two had the same players or like players around them they too would make it to the playoffs also.

All of them have a winning attitude and offer skills that make the other players around then better.

So in this case best is in the eye of the beholder as well as what you think of the individual players.

None of the 3 guys you just mentioned. Have any of you ever heard of this guy Elton Brand? This guy has to be one of the top 5 players in the NBA but no one seems to notice it! He can shoot, rebound play defense and he is a great team player. What amazes me is that he is only 6'8! This guy can play with the best of them but he gets no recognition. . . no respect. He should be mentioned with those three. EB#1
