I had that EXACT problem in school, the girl I was seeing lived near downtown Pittsburgh while I lived just outside of the city.
I didn't have a car then but I always either took a taxi or a bus for both for at the very least 1 hour. I was there every weekend and every time in between that she asked,.......I was whipped.....
all the while talking of "forever", and "love", and blah, blah, blah.
for almost 2 years.
She still broke up with me,...Ha. Yes I moved on, no, it wasn't entirely easy, sometimes I think about her, and I'm still alittle bitter, cuz I really had no real closure. But if I hadn't gotten dumped, who knows if I would've even met the woman I married.
The moral......Women are evil!!!.........some women.....not all
women, some are amazing, but you might have to go through hell to find her.

Hour commute? I'll tell you a story. I was living in VT and was going to move to NJ to start a new job. My friends took me out and we met other friends of theirs. I met a woman and we danced and I convinced her to come home with me. She was shy and was concerned what her friends would think of her. Well, I turned the charm on and we had a great weekend. I drove 6 hours each way every other weekend to be with her. After 3 months I asked her to marry. We married and I moved her to NJ.
After 3 years, I was not happy nor she.
We divorced. I have not heard or seen her since.
Sad? I won't do that again.

If I was really into her and she was amazing (I presume we're talking about you here)... I'd make time if I was too busy. And the hour commute wouldn't particularly bother me.
Love shouldn't come to know the boundaries that it sometimes does. Only a true cynic questions the value of trading time for love.

After 3 months...no. But it depends on the reasons why she broke up. If they were just because of the commute time, then that is a little weak.
Hope thsi helps

Anytime there is a lack of closure or forewarning of such relationship termination--whether it a friend, family or lover--there is a significant unavoidable "miss". Anyone who denies this is lying to you or to them self.
Long commute or not for person #1...a bond was established in those 3 months and if person #2 ended it abruptly...person #1 was jolted.

It might be a little hard at first , hey life waits for no-one. If she found someone she'd rather be with, why should I fret over it. I not married to her so she can do whatever she wants. The same goes for me. I'd always have good memories anyway .

with the circumstances you listed, it wouldn't be too hard to move on. Maybe not easy, depending on how "romantic" is was, but it was only 3 months, sure I'd miss her, can't be invovled and not be friends.

Yea i would deffinetly miss her. The key to this is to have someone to talk to, another girl, have her to lean on and maybe look for a girl to satisfy your emotional needs momentarily. As bad as it sounds its always best to have a negative rebound time. It saves a lot of heartache.
