The big theology companies haven't been hiring much lately. You might get stuck selling bibles to tourists on a NY sidewalk.

The belief in a human being being a god is a bit hard for most to swallow. I daresay many who are now in the ministry do not necessarily believe that Jesus was both man and Divine. The more you study the Bible, the less reason there is to hold that belief.
If televangalism turns you off, then a life as a theologan may be ok. Be prepared for a lack of meaningful salary. Myself? I would learn a trade that gave me money and spare time then I would (and do) study theology on my own.
You might read Sinclair Lewis' fine book _Elmer Gantry_ and see how that strikes you.

Get ordained online free, just type it in on a search...there are a ton out there. Then you can do weddings...tons of money there. I've been doing weddings for 20 years now....went from $20 to an informal to around $200 for the same thing I did 20 years ago....good weekend cash. You can also start a church..the USA has liberal standards on what constitutes a church, then you can get tax breaks. Theology and money have gone together since the start of religion.....don't let anyone say that because you want money makes you less spiritual...that dog just isnt in the hunt.
Good Luck

You can study something without being an ardent evangelist for it. If you were truly neutral on the topic of what religion was the best, I dare say that you would be the best theologist ever(since theology is not just the study of one religion exclusively.)

You much be young and your idea will not go very far. I am planning on going to Divinity School for my Master's to become a Pastor (I am a software engineer now, video games, good $)-- Being a Pastor or priest it is alot of work and meager money. It is a dedication.

You may as well go for it. You do not have to believe in a god to be part a scam or con. And you have really picked the biggest con or scam ever known to man. I would think a lot of these guys that have gottten rich from religion knows it is a scam. So I'm sure no one would notice you were in the game.

Theology and money don't naturally happen together. You are inconsistent. Theology without religion is a con game.

go ahead, study theology. studying about a subject or topic doesn't necessarily mean that the student believes in whatever s/he is studying. studying will help you realize whether or not the subject is worth believing.

You could always get a Ph.D and teach at a good University like Cambridge, but the likeliness of that is low.
