The Shawshank Redemption. There are some brutal scenes, because it is about a man in prison, but it has a very happy ending and is worth watching. A good suspense movie is Breakdown, starring Kurt Russell. A good comedy? Well, that's a tough one.

Coming to America is a great comedy. This is a "laugh yourself silly " type of movie. The Cell is a good drama movie, amazingly considering Jennifer Lopez is the lead actress.

If you can find any of his movies, try finding some directed by Akira Kurosawa. I love his work. I think the one you would like would be "Ikiru." It is wonderful story and Takashi Shimura was absolutely brilliant as the lead character.
