Invisible people have chosen to be invisible to others by their past experiences. It doesn't matter whether they are fat or not. I have chosen invisibility as my shield from getting hurt like I have in the past. I just don't like a lot of attention on me. It embarasses me. (An ex drama geek!)

Sometimes with the want for aloneness comes the idea that "If I am fatter, no one will want to know me and my mistakes." "If I am fatter, I will not get the (bad) attention that I don't like." At least that's what I used to think.

I've lost a lot of the weight I gained just from coming to that realization that I was choosing it to be my shield from the "bad guys who only wanted me for my body, and not my brain..... who treated me like the dumb blonde, and didn't respect me." I even dyed my hair brown back then. I didn't want to be noticed.

I want to be noticed now. I've lost about 30 lbs, and still losing. My hair is back to blonde, and I don't want to be invisible to my man, my family, or my friends any longer. I get it. I choose my destiny, and it is not invisible any longer.

I even put my REAL picture on here for good luck.... lol!

I wonder if this helped with your question.

I have heard this complaint before. And I've heard if they don't feel ignored they feel like everyone stares and laughs at them. I believe this is true in many cases but sometimes I think it's the person's own self-image that makes them feel as they do.
I've had some overweight friends that shine like the sun with brilliant personalities and prove that big can be beautiful!

In the society that we live in Can -Us everybody is judge by their appearance. They have made a study on this a couple of years ago and unfortunately thats how people think on the first sight that counts. Welcome to the 21 st century maybe the next 1 will be different but i doubt..

I dont think it really matters with the overweight thing. It matters how your personality is. For example, I used to weigh around 220lbs and my best friend weighed around 260. I was shy, but she was outgoing, flirting with guys all the time. She got the guys, I didn't.

not everyone does. and people that do, you probably don't want their attention anywhoo. that's their problem. but i think that most prople acknowledge them. it's just the society that we live in. it's far from perfect, so there's bound to be some real jerks out there. THEY deserve to be ignored.
