And he brings up the topic frequently in conversations.

How can I avoid or change the topic as I feel uncomfortable talking about this?

I have never felt that way about him as I have always treated him as a big brother

Yes, have hinted and told him outrightly that he has a beautiful wife with two cute little girls. It is getting on my nerves and I wish I can get him to just stop telling me these thoughts. Especially when he calls at night while on duty (he's in the navy)

I do treasure his friendship but I guess it will have to go if he wants more

Seems that he is having a case of the "might have beens"...especially if you had a good friendly relationship, and were close, many people think that it can continue but with benefits once they are technically unavailable. It might be better to NOT change the topic...let him know that you like(ed) him as a friend, but especially in the circumstance, you don't feel right about his current attraction. If it continues in this way, you will lose the respect and caring that was the basis of your original relationship. That might be enough to make him reconsider his actions. If it doesn't, then he is not the man you took him for, and tell him so!

Perhaps it is wishful thinking on his part and he tells you so that he can start something up with you. I would be honest and tell him that the conversation and that topic makes you uncomfortable. If he doesn't accept that then it may be time for the two of you to stay away from each other until he gets the message.

He would tell you that because he used to like you. Next time he brings it up ask him why he brings it up all the time. Remind him that he is married if he wants to put the moves on you. If you feel uncomfortable with him then he is not being a true friend.

Some ppl jz want to let u know how they felt bout u in the past. But if he keep talking bout it it seems like not very good.
tell him clearly that he shouldn't be talking with u about this topic anymore.
& tell him firmly that u dont have any feeling towards him.
man are all thick skin, u have to reject them in order to stop them harassing u.

Wow, that's definitely not fair to you, especially if you had/have feelings for him..cause now it's way too late to do anything about it. I would just ask him why he brings it up because he is a married man, and ask him for both of yours sake to please not bring it up anymore, because it causes awkwardness and sexual tension. Good luck!! :)

He wants to tell you that he still likes you...
Just tell him what you have to tell him...
tell him you're uncomfortable when he brings that up...
