My parents are divorced, and to tell u the truth after all the sadness, heartache, and confusion, i realized that it was the best thing , my father is remarried to a wonderful woman and i just dont think as much as my father loved my mom, i just dont think he would of every been as happy as he is now if she hadnt left..
U have to realize that ur parents may at first try and get u to take sides, or one may, just dont fall for it.. sometimes when people are hurt they will do cruel things with out even realizing what they are doing cause their emotions are running so high that they cant think rationally, so if they try to put u in the middle.. dont let them let them know u both love them but this is something they have to figure out and work out for themselves..

When my parents seperated, i found it not hard but so much easier, he would do things that made us all uncomfortable but when he was gone, we were able to be ourselves. It will be difficult on both parents and yourself of course but try and look at the positives into why this is happening. You may find something in yourself that you never knew was there. Good luck sweety.

Alot of kids benefit from this in the long run honey. Just think, you'll have two christmas's, two birthdays, two vacations, etc. I know it's not much to think of in the way of bonuses, but I'm not sure that you'll understand or even comprehend how it's much better for you to spend time with each parent in a loving relationship then it is to spend it watching them argue day in and day out. It'll work out as long as your keep in mind that they both still love you the same...that never changes. Just please don't play them against each other, that is usually when things go bad.

Try to look on the bright side of this and know that if your parents separate, it's probably for the best. Be thankful that you have both parents because there some of us out there that don't have any, like me. Feel better and Good Luck to you!!!

It will b ok. My parents divorced when I was 8. It takes a lot of adjusting but you will get use to it. They will both still love you. Plus look at it this way you will have two christmas's and birthdays and so on lol. I use to love that!!!! Everything will be fine as long as your parents stay mature adults about everything!!

To put it bluntly -- it is a RELIEF -- to have to live in a single parent household when the parents were definitely NOT in a good relationship (and I know my children were relieved to have ONE stable, responsible parent instead of having to deal with the rages of their father).

It would be hard for you at first but I know you'll be able to bear it...
like what the first person who answered your question that it's better to have one than none at all...
you may not understand it at first, but you will sooner or later...
