Long story... I am going to summarize.

At the end of WW2, we had flexed our nuclear muscles. This resulted in a Cold War and a war against the spread of communism called containment.

We made deals and armed many terrorist group in our containment strategy.

In 1984, with the fall of the Soviet Union, we then dropped those terrorist groups like hot potatoes.

They became resentful and angry.. deciding to strike back. This leads us to where we are today.

Internally in the USA, we have a lot of hate and prejudice. This has been a direct result of the Rove strategy to win republican elections since the early 70s. He is on record as saying hate is the most motivating factor to get ppl to vote.

Logic would dictate that because certain decisions seem to lack proper backing and many things have happened that aren't properly explained, there is information that we as the public at large are not privy to. Obviously this is the truth, it is the nature of the beast. However, I am not saying it is a conspiracy, I am saying that the decision makers had reasons for what they did, have made some mistakes that they can not admit to because the US would lose credibility in the global eyes (which would indeed be horrible for a superpower such as the US), and now are forced to manufacture reasons for their actions to save face.

Logic, or science dictates that for every action there is a reaction. If "why everything is happening?" means suffering, warring, violence and such, the answer is us. We do something that causes something else to happen. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Everything we as humans have done from the beginning of time has caused today's present, and what we are doing now and contiue to do with contribute to earth's future. We are why.

As to any given event, reasons can often be given after the fact, but attempting to determine the outcome of a specific situation in advance is almost always impossible because the number of possible relevant variables is so large. Sometimes, the number of variables is manageable, and a valid prediction can be made: for example, it was predicted that the capital gains tax cut would increase the tax revenue. It did so, by fifty percent.

Humanitiy is going through the pangs of a shrinking world. One portion is way ahead of the rest, best it just degrades down to huts Grass Huts in Africa. This process is kind of like what the forming of the US did, it was rough but a lot just blended in to make something new. We can watch the world go through it like never before and it can be overwhelming.

I agree with spider. Also we humans do not have a very good track record of getting along with each other. Then there is the fact that there are over 6 Billion of us, that in itself can spell trouble.

Many of the problems around the world are of our own making. We allowed the illegals to flow across the border, we pampered dictators such as Saddam and gave him cash, we disregard the rights of others to mandate US policy and domestic problems are massive and no one is using their intellect to try to stem the downward spiral.

Because hatred and bigotry and blind fanaticism have morphed into a contagious mental disease that has affected not only most of the leaders of armed countries, but a large percentage of several populations.

I kind of like coragryph reply. What is happening is that a bunch of self-centered, self-absorbed idealistic children grew up to be a bunch of self-centered, self-absorbed adults; they are in charge all over the world, and the only response they know is that it (whatever it is) has to be their way or they are going to bully their way to get it. That is what is happening.
