I recently got into Nirvana, and I find that rock is actually deeper than I once imagined it being. Now I wonder... can anyone write lyrics as good as he does? Or even does anyone sing with his level of emotional strength? Because wow, if anyone's better than him, I would want to know.

Cobain was good for his generation and time. Do I think he is timeless and will last as long as say The Beatles or The Stones, no way. His contribution to the music world was short lived but did make changes as far as bringing Grunge to the forfront of that era.

Kurt Cobain was a terrible singer, guitarist and lyricist. If you want to hear excellent music with artistic, thoughtful lyrics composed from drug-users, listen to Pink Floyd. If you want to hear horrendous sloppy noise with whiny pathetic depressing lyrics composed by drug-users, go ahead and subject yourself to Nirvana. But don't say I didn't warn you...

I admire his lyrics, but I think he sounded like he was singing with marbles in his mouth. No offense to you. Try listening to Maynard James Keenan, some of his songs are really emotional and he can convey it through his voice very well. Especially the songs about his mother on 10,000 days.

u have to understand the times that kirt was alive he is a true artist and wrote from his soal by no means am i compairing the two but dave mathews is another lyrical poet
