I am just wondering, Has anyone got an email saying that they are going to get millions of dollars from their dead relative that they didn't know? Well it's a scam letter known as the 419. They convince you that you are going to get millions, but before you get it you need to pay a transaction fee. Have they gotten to you?

Okay no but I have gotten soooo many emails from South Africans saying they are bankers and people that are vacationing over there were killed and they have all this money they want to wire me and I need to give them my bank account info so they can transfer millions into my account before it is too late and when they do that they want to split the money or some sort of split because they are doing me such a favor....etc etc ...blah blah blah I have read them and laughed because they can't even write in complete sentences. But I have never responded I delete those emails as quick as I see them.

The Nigerian scam has been going on for years. Never ever give out your account information to an untrusted source, period.

That is a known scam that has been around for some time. Do NOT respond to the message in any way.

I've been getting swamped with these bogus things lately . Not just from Nigeria, though. The last one (just fo fun) I asked for confirmation that it was legit and got a scan of a check made out to me in the amount of $650,000.00. What was funny was that my name was spelled completely wrong! How stupid do they think people are?!?

Its a scam, of course. If you want to see some "payback in kind", which is hilarious, go to:

To see stuff that the US Secret Service has on this, try:

I haven't gotten it in my own mail but the woman I covered for at work got it in hers when I checked hers. I've seen about a dozen questions here about the scam so I assume it's in epidemic stage now.

Dont fall for it. A lady in my state fell for it and in the ensuing fight with her husband about the stupidity of falling for a scam and ruining the family finances she shot him dead. IT IS A SCAM!!!
