5-6 inches is the average. So your man is well endowed. Bigger is nice, but not TOO big. At a certain size, the law of diminishing returns kicks in.

As to what is comfortable? It depends in my opinion on width as well.
Depends on your personal build, your experience, the fitness of your pubic muscles, and whether you have had kids or not.
If you have a partner whose penis is too long in your opinion, then have him wrap a towel or something around hte bottom few inches of his penis. That way he can't overthrust into you.
