Holding your head to the side and jumping up and down will often do the trick. Otherwise soak a cotton ball in alcohol and squeeze it into the ear, let it sit a minute and then tip your head over to let the water drain. DO NOT swalllow while you are holding the alcohol in your ear- it hurt if you do.

Sometimes if you plug your nose and try to blow out of your ears (this sounds nonsensical, but try it, you'll see what I mean) it often gets the water out of the inner ear. Use one of the other methods recommended by other people to get the water out once it's closer to the outside.

To prevent swimmer's ear, wear a swimming cap. After a swim, shake and tilt your head to remove water from the ears. If water remains, use a hair dryer on a low setting or antiseptic ear drops (or alcohol) to dry out the ears.

you have to be kinda' acrobatic! You have to bend over and shake one side of your head til you feel it pop. Then do the other side! If that don't work, get some Swimear.
