Live life king size. spend the amount in Las vegas, stay in plush hotel and spend the rest. The only risk is you may be posting another question after some time like " Finding a best way to spend 50000$" :) All the best

US $ 5000.00 will not last long if you intend spending lavishly.
Suggest you spend US $ 1000.00, that too if you’re hell-bent and want to pamper yourself. The rest can either go into a bank account or invest in shares if you know a thing or two about them or any friends or others you trust do.
The idea is to make your money grow – spending makes it grow smaller!

With out knowing anything about you, I would only be able to tell you what I would do with it.
If I already had all my debts paid, and had enough savings to live on for 6 months in case of emergency, I would spend it on my research.
I am a paranormal investigator that specializes in recording voices of the dead (EVP) and need some technical equipment for recording electromagnetic, and ultraviolet energy.

I would spent some of it to help others in need.
And some to travel and experience new vistas, people and cultures.
