I have never delievered myself but do know some people who have made livings from this job. They report on an average night making approximately $200 - 300 bucks with tips included. On special event nights, like super bowl, stanley cup etc. they report making up to $500 - 700 per night. So don't be laughing too loudly at these delivery people as some have made careers out of it.

If there's a company car to deliver in, go for it. If you have to use your own car, you will not make enough to recover the wear and tear.
As long as you have a decent demeanor on deliveries you should get around 10% in tips on top of your wage. Somewhat less than waiting tables since there's quite a few people who don't realize that tips are expected with pizza delivery, but those who do tip make up for those who don't.

i think you have to drive your own car around, which sucks. One list says delivering pizza is one of the most dangerous jobs around, after police officer and something else i can't remember. Dunno why that would be tough.
Oh, and be careful what you believe when it comes to people talking about tips. I used to be a waiter, and they tended to exaggerate.

I did it for awhile and did well. Sometimes it can be scary though, if you're a girl.
