I have the Spyware Quake trojan on my computer. It has affected my internet connection making it impossible for me to download a program to automatically remove the virus. What should I do? Thanks.

Don't do this if you are unfamilar with modifying the registry! Otherwise:
Remove these SpywareQuake processes:

Remove these SpywareQuake registry values:

Are you absolutely sure you can't download? Did you already try? I ask b/c I had quite a bit of spyware on my PC a couple months ago and I was still able to download Spybot Search and Destroy (for free). It took awhile but it went thru...anyway sorry I'm not more help! Good luck.

I would say the best way is to go buy one scan everything on you're computer
then get on Internet and download a spy-ware removal tool like
ad-awre
and spy-bot search and destroy to get rid of the spy-ware on you're computer
Option 2 would be two use a rescue disk or back-up disk if you made one if not nothing much you can do

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
