i want to know if thay contain genetic data (dna or rna) and if there living or nonliving organisms

viruses are a very interesting thing, they can eem to be nonliving going with out a host for a long time but as soon as they find a host blam back to life,

the debate over wheter a virus is nonliving or living is still going on

They will contain either DNA or RNA

They will have a protein capsule to facilitate binding

Some have extra proteins (eg reverse transcriptase) which will facilitate their hijack of a cell.

Most authorities say viruses are non-living as they cannot replicate by themselves.
