Do you like this book? I know it's a childrens book, but I just love it. It's such a beautiful story. One of Munch's best, I'd say.

"I will love you forever...I will like you for always...as long as you are living...my baby you'll be...." I LOVE THIS BOOK! I'm 27 now and I remember our teacher reading this to us in like grade 3...from her rocking chair...and having it at home...it still makes me cry the end when he's like rocking his mother...omg!! =( It's so true....lol Love this book...(Mortimer, Paperbag Princess..were my other faves! Robert Munch RULES! He's from Ontario too...like me!)

I read this book when it first came out, as I waited at the obstetrician's office when 8 months pregnant. I started to cry... the next woman picked it up, and I warned her not to, but she read it anyway, and began crying... then the next, and the next... by the time I saw the doctor, there were a dozen pregnant women and two dads-to-be bawling their eyes out in the waiting room.

There was a CBC radio special this spring with Munch himself reading the book while I was at work. I had to change the station... then I left to visit another workplace, and saw my red-eyed co-worker frantically trying to change the station there too.

One of my kids just has to sing the title and I'm a puddle of goo every time. It's their secret weapon.

There's not a finer children's (actually, parent's) book ever written.

Yes it is a good book. I like the part where the old mother crawls out in the middle of the night to hold her grown up son. My oldest is about to turn 18 and he is very tall and I tried to hug him the other day and he just shrugged and said MOTHER!!! If his room were claen I would hug him at night. As it is I would break my neck trying to get in there.

No way...Stephanie's Ponytail is the best. Love you Forever is an abberation, all his other books are so ridiculously funny. Anyone can write sap, Munsch is a genius at writing hilarious stories that kids love. Oh, and Purple Green and Yellow is really good as well.

It is a children's book, but it is also for everyone who has ever had a child. My adult daughter gave me a copy a few years ago and I treasure it.
