Why was the Philippines easily colonized by the Spaniards?

well it was not really easy moro*muslims attacked the fleet of magellan and killed him, they even poisoned some troupes of villalobos, it took some time before they where able to colonize the philippines
and as a filipino i absolutely hate how the spaniards destroyed our mother land, we have been great warriors, able to trade and read well before they came, then those priests, so called priests raped our women, killed our men , used Catholicism as an excuse for their savage deeds
our national hero Jose Rizal is better , more brilliant than millions of spaniards
we mourn the fact that we had to be ruled by savage spaniards who dont know how to run a government, who abuse people and tell them that it is for God, spaniards must pay filipinos for completely destroying our books and culture but they wont even be able to restore our lost dignity even if we killed all spaniards today

spaniards before are too selfish, dumb, useless i wish they never came , we would have been a first class country right now we had great ancestors you know but they tortured and killed them all!!!!

Because they played one tribe against another. They often recruited Tagalogs to fight against the Visayans, and the Kapampangans against the Tagalogs, Visayans against the Moros, Bicolanos against the Ilocanos. So, they were able to capitulate Philippines easily.

Another factor would be the similarity of pre-Hispanic Filipino religion to Roman Catholicism, so they became Catholics easily and without force.
