The sweater is made of 80% cotton or 20% polyester with a shell of 83% polyester and 17% nylon.

I'm wondering if the sweater will likely stretch with time around the arms and abdomen area.

Not if you hand wash it and treat it right!

It probably will stretch some by atleast the second wear. Cotton gives. It also depends on how tightly woven the sweater is. Loosely woven ones would be thin and would definitely stretch out. But, since your's has a shell under it then it may not stretch as easily, which is a good thing, because you'll get more wear out of it.

I have a very old cotton sweater, it is my favorite. I have always laid it flat to dry and it has kept its shape.

i might return it and get one that suits you. See if this could progressively greater get the stain out of your previous blouse rub some liquid Tide detergent in to the stain and permit it set for 10-quarter-hour and then wash it like organic. are no longer waiting to wreck to check out it.
